I watched a documentary recently about Tjalf Sparnaay, a Dutch “mega-realist” painter who paints in such a way that the finished works look like (or even better than) photographs.
The egg picture for this post is a PAINTING- not a photograph.
I was sucked in.
After the documentary I found myself noticing the small everyday details of life, the perforations in a teabag and the lines in the palm of my hand.
I realised that watching the documentary had made me change my perception and to notice the extremely small details that combine to create our lives.
it’s a fascinating documentary, Tjalf is an incredibly talented man and the message is an important one- focus on the very very small details in life, because sometimes they are all that matter.
