We instinctively know that a compassionate approach is best
This article from the Daily Mail in the UK, asserts that the key to happiness could lie in treating yourself like a baby. That meaning you treat yourself with the utmost of love and compassion at all times – no negative self talk, just the love and support you would show to a baby.
Compassion, support and love help to nurture and aid the growth of our children more-so than negativity or criticism; so it makes sense that the same is true of how you treat yourself. It’s just that being negative feels more “productive” and more like the right thing to do.
As a massive self- criticiser I am definitely going to experiment to see if this works 🙂
