Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life
Hector and the Search for Happiness began as a book and is now a film – I recently bought the DVD and thoroughly enjoyed Simon Pegg’s portrayal of Hector, a young professional seeking peace and happiness in his life.
I for one have been “searching for happiness” for years, using the resources I find for my blog to help me grow along the way. At some point we are all “searching” for happiness, when in fact we may already have it and simply need to understand it better.
Throughout the film, Hector compiles a list of observations about happiness which are both inspiring and surprising.
Pearls such as
- It’s a mistake to think that happiness is the goal
- Happiness means making sure that those around you are happy
Remind us that happiness is not and never will be money. Neither is it a finite goal or resource.
The film and the list which Hector compiles reminds us all that happiness is about perspective and about wanting to be happy.
