Don’t wait for disaster to hit.
I’m a big fan of Leo Babauta and Zenhabits – I love the simplicity of his blog but I also love the way he intertwines his approach to his own life in his writing- that’s what makes it special.
This post was a poignant one as it was written at a time when Leo was facing a tough time personally with his father being taken ill unexpectedly.
He describes the news as a “karate chop” an unexpected impact which causes you to evaluate what is truly important in your life.
Leo suggests we shouldn’t wait for a “karate chop” and we should assess the important things in our lives t keep things in perspective- I bet money, possessions and the like feature further down the list- if so you need to act accordingly in how you devote your time.
