I value self-discipline, but creating systems that make it next to impossible to misbehave is more reliable than self-control.
Tim Ferriss is a god.
He is an amazing super productive human being who has written three books (The 4-Hour Work Week, The 4-Hour Body, The 4-Hour Chef ), runs a “lifestyle design” blog and generally blazes a trail for those looking to change or improve their lives- usually entrepreneurs.
He also won me over even more when he recently opened up about his imperfections on his blog.
Possibly one of the first bloggers to truly impact my own life, Tim’s story of bored office worker turned location indepedant entrepreneur is admirable.
It’s his efforts to inspire others to emulate his success and enjoy their lives without putting things off until retirement which is his true genius.
Tim’s 2008 Ted talk is a great place to start – you’ll get a feel for his personal story, his obsession with reducing tasks to their component parts – and his wry sense of humour.
