Simple Living Manifesto

Edit, simplify

Leo Babauta is all about Zen.

Less stuff, less attachments, more focus and more centred happiness.

This blog post from 2007 covers some key areas we can all take action to unclutter our lives and head towards a simpler existence.

Utilising two key steps:

  1. Identify what’s most important to you.
  2. Eliminate everything else.

The Simple Living Manifesto makes uncluttering all areas of your life seem so easy and accessible.

From living more frugally to eating well, exercising more and removing the unnecessary from your life- there is, as always, a great deal of wisdom on offer at ZenHabits.

My favourite instruction in the manifesto is limiting your media consumption.

We can become so full of other people’s lives and people we don’t even know that we lose focus on ourselves and our success.

By limiting the consumption of media- especially the news – you will be surprised how more relaxed and less fearful the world becomes.

Remember- Always ask: Will this simplify my life? If the answer is no, reconsider.
