If you can’t get a miracle. Become one
Nick Vujicic was born without any limbs.
OK, that’s not true- he does have his “chicken drumstick” but ultimately Nick faces life with what you can only imagine would be severely limited abilities.
At the age of ten after considering suicide, Nick decided he would never give up again or be defeated by his lack of limbs.
His parents told him he could be angry for what he didn’t have- or happy for what he did have.
Nick began devoting himself to helping others who may face difficulty in their own lives.
Founding “life without limbs” at age 17- Nick began speaking and spreading his own story in the hope it would inspire others. With books , Dvds and his speaking, Nick has reached millions of people across the world with his unique and warm approach to the setbacks he has faced, and those we all face in life.
Part of his message relates to his faith in god – something which has helped Nick not only cope with his circumstances, but conquer them.
Even with god to one side (this isn’t a religious blog by any means although religion is of course important for many people) it’s the approach that no matter what happens to you, you can still prevail which is the lesson to be learned from Nick and his story.
You can choose to be angry for what you don’t have, or to be happy for what you do have.
Now happily married and with a son, Nick is living testament that it’s not what happens to you in life which counts – it’s what you do about it.
What a guy!
