Let me be the first to point out I am not a medical professional, I hold no degrees in psychology nor am I a counsellor or a doctor….I’m barely qualified to drive.
As a survivor of parental suicide, the 2004 Asian tsunami and years of depression and generalised anxiety disorder, I have compiled an enormous resource of inspiring material which I call upon in my dark moments.
Of course, the dark moments are lessened each year and through extensive counselling and CBT, I’ve fought hard to make the best of myself.
It’s not what happens to you, it’s what you do about it.
Having a structure to keep you going is the key to overcoming whatever adversity darkens your door.
It has helped me turn any number of devastating life events into positive experiences which have helped me to learn and grow.
You can believe me when I say it hasn’t been easy – turning the negative events of my life into positives has taken commitment, courage and a strong desire to grow.
My belief is that we’re only given one life and one chance to live our best- taking the positive route has always been a no-brainer – no matter the circumstances.
By continually being responsible for my actions, my feelings and how I choose to let life effect me, over many years I have begun to create a stable, enjoyable and positive life- despite the obvious setbacks.
Let me also point out I am by no means perfect- I try my best but sometimes forget things or struggle to be motivated.
I am not perfect but it doesn’t matter, what matters is the desire and the courage to be the best I can be.
Truthfully, this website is for me – it’s an outlet for my creativity and for the inspiring things I find each day, and it’s the website I wish I had and still need from time to time which can pick me up and help me along the road when times turn tough.
It’s also a website for you – chances are, if you’re reading this then you may need some encouragement, some guidance, or simply some new ideas to help you in your life as I have in mine.
I hope this website serves as a reliable ally in your quest for happiness- whatever happiness is for you.
