Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong.
You have probably heard of Murphy’s Law. It’s advice to be cautious, to prepare for the worst and to think about alternative plans.
Whilst being prepared and considering your plans is worthwhile, internalising a phrase such as “Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong” can surely only lead you to focus on the negative.
Rather than preparing for the worst, Murphy’s Law is about expecting the worse- which is not a healthy way to think.
What if we swapped this around?, what if it was:
Whatever can go right, will go right.
What if you considered everything which could go wrong and prepared for it, but also focussed on things going right and working in your favour (like pronoia)?
Just a thought.
