I am guilty of over-explaining.
I’m the person that will try to justify something or explain something far more than is required.
I do this (used to do this) from a sense of “owing” those around me. I felt I owed them the explanation, the apology, the justification – as though I was forever seeking permission and approval.
I can’t tell you when it started, or why (although I suspect low self confidence) but I can tell you that this chapter of my life is well and truly over.
